Housed in a fine Elizabethan building that Dickens knew well are recreated scenes from some of the author's most well known books - Mr Pickwick addresses the Pickwick Club, Marley's ghost appears, Miss Havisham maintains her lonely vigil and Squeers whacks the school desk to jolt his nervous class into continuing their spelling tests. The Charles Dickens Centre opens every day (except for a few days at Christmas) from 10am to 5.30pm. (Last admission 4.45pm)
