The home of the enchanting actress, Ellen Terry Visit this stunning 16th-century half-timbered house, home to the Shakespearean actress Dame Ellen Terry from 1899 until her death in 1928. A fascinating collection of personal mementoes and stage memorabilia, including playbills, props, make-up and a striking display of costumes traces the life and times of Dame Ellen and other great names of the theatre at the turn of the century. Stroll in the delightful cottage garden and visit the small theatre in the Elizabethan barn, by courtesy of The Barn Theatre Society. The theatre was created in 1929 and plays are still staged here today.
