Beautiful l7th Century manor house, still lived in by the descendants of John Warde who purchased Squerryes from the Earl of Jersey in 1731. Fine collection of Old Master paintings from the Italian, l7th century Dutch and l8th century English schools, furniture, porcelain and tapestries all acquired or commissioned by the family in the l8th century. The attractive gardens are interesting all through the seasons. The thousands of daffodils are followed by carpets of bluebells. The herbaceous borders and old roses flower throughout the summer. OPEN: 1st April to 30th September Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays & BHM Garden: 12 noon to 5.30pm House: 1.30pm to 5.30pm Homemade teas served in Old Library and on Tea Lawn 1.30pm to 5pm. ADMISSION CHARGES: House and Grounds: Adults £4.20, OAP's £3.80, Child £2.50 (under 14). Grounds only: £2.50, £2.20 & £1.50. Booked Parties (20+) welcome any day April to October. House and grounds £3.60. Grounds only £2.20. Groups always guided around house (small additional charge). CATERING for groups (by prior arrangement).
